I’ve always been a fan of Gareth Evans’ Indonesian action flicks, The Raid: Redemption and its sequel, The Raid 2. You know, the ones where dudes just beat the living daylights out of each other in a non-stop, bloody ballet of violence? I mean, who doesn't love a good martial arts movie with non-stop fights, creative kills, and suspense that'll keep you on the edge of your seat? So, when I heard whispers about "Kill" being the desi cousin of The Raid, my curiosity was tickled pink. I was like, "Sign me up!" . When it comes to Bollywood fighting movies, the last one I really enjoyed was the 2013 action thriller ‘Commando’ featuring Vidyut Jammwal and Jaideep Ahlawat. And with a 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a Hollywood remake in the works, I was gearing up for some serious action. After watching Kill, I can say it’s like an Indian Raid, or maybe a spicy mix of Die Hard’s lone hero against villains and The Raid’s non-stop, expertly-staged ultraviolence and mayhem. It might not quite reach the heights of The Raid movies, but hey, I’ll take it!

Kill
Speaking of violence, Kill might just be the most violent Bollywood movie ever, and that's saying something. Now, the movie's not exactly subtle. It's loud, it's chaotic, and it's brutal. Then again, that’s exactly what we signed up for, right? Picture this: a bunch of bandits decide to rob a passenger train, thinking it’s their lucky day. Little do they know, there's an NSG commando on board who's about to turn their heist into a non-stop action fest—A rapid-fire rollercoaster of combat in the tight quarters of a passenger train. The film takes a leisurely 15 minutes to introduce the characters and set up the plot, and then it’s 90 minutes of pure pandemonium. There are more punches, kicks, and stabbings than you’d find in a ninja training camp. What’s cool is that the villains aren’t just cardboard cutouts—they’re strong, get plenty of screen time, and even show some emotions!
The only downside is that it can get a bit repetitive. I mean, you can only watch a guy beat up bad guys for so long before you start to wonder, "Is that it? Just punching and kicking and stabbing?" So, they had to invent 20 different ways for the hero to creatively clobber the villains. The Raid movies nailed this, and Kill does a decent job too, with action choreography that’s impressive and intense. So, if you’re okay with non-stop fighting, buckets of blood, and enough ultraviolence to make a gladiator blush, give Kill a watch. If you're squeamish about violence, you might want to cover your eyes and ears—but then, you'd miss the whole movie! And here’s the kicker—the funniest twist of all is that such a gory, blood-soaked movie comes from Dharma Productions, a production house usually known for......you know what! Talk about a plot twist!
